HAT Microserver Instructions

means HAT Microserver Instructions that are permissions given to Dataswift and PDA-enabled Apps and tools to read and write data into a PDA, and the execution of code within the HAT Microserver that enable the permissions to be acted upon.

PDA Merchants

PDA Merchants are organisations that acquire or inquire data for their PDA- enabled application or website from the PDA. PDA Merchants pay for data transactions whenever they acquire or inquire data from PDA owners.

SHE Functions

Tools that transform PDA data through computations such as analytic functions or algorithmic functions. These internal computational tools (“Tools”) sit within a PDA. The insights from these tools remain private unless the PDA owner chooses to share them.

Data Debit

means a technical process of enabling access to HAT Data held in a Namespace that is not associated with that PDA-enabled App and/ or file in the the File Storage System

PDA Owner Services

The "PDA Owner Services" are web or mobile applications that allow the PDA Owner to view the data in their PDA and easily execute the instructions within the PDA. Except for performance improvements, Owner Services do not store any personal data. Owner services are also called Z class applications under the HATDeX Rating scheme ( https://www.hatcommunity.org/hat-dex-rating) and they enable the PDA owner to execute instructions for Dataswift’s Merchant applications and services by the PDA owner. The right to operate owners services are given only to HAT Platform Providers who are tasked to maintain the privacy, security, ownership rights as well as the exchange and instruction models of HATs by the HAT Community Foundation.

Transformed Data

Data is considered to be transformed if the original data from the APIs cannot be re-constructed from the transformed data.

Data Plug

Data Plug (“Data Plug”) is a third-party service that may or may not be part of Dataswift Services. Data Plugs are API-to-API services that enable PDA owners to transfer their data from a source platform e.g. Facebook, to their PDAs.

HAT Platform Provider

HAT Platform Provider is a technology company that built services of data storage, transformation and exchange on the open sourced HAT technology, in accordance to the HAT Trust Framework and certified by the HAT Community Foundation. Currently, Dataswift is the only HAT Platform Provider

PDA Issuers

PDA issuers are organisations that contract with Dataswift to issue Personal Data Accounts to their customers and draw revenues from data transactions when the PDAs they issue transact with PDA Merchants. Issuers are usually large organisations within a particular sector that have a large customer base and want to benefit from the data they hold of their customers by enabling their own customers to re-use and re-share their data.

Personal Data

means any information relating to an identified or identifiable individual. An identifiable individual is someone who can be identified directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as name, identification number, location data, an online identifier or other specific factors
